Subject: AIAS Conference Agenda
From a lot of experience at conferences they usually break up in to small groups for discussion. I will give my short presentations informally without notes and for any detailed presentations I will need a computer with a big screen. The rule is to keep things flexible and totally informal. I am glad that the conference will take place in the National Library of Wales, neither Gareth Evans nor I are terribly keen on the College for obvious reasons if anyone has been reading any of the history. I agree that foreign delegates should be given priority. The logistics mean that ten rooms must be booked on the evening of 3rd July – they will be totally tired out after a day’s travel. I know this from experience of travel from the US to here. All are welcome here at my house any time with a few days’ notice. Delegates should be completely familiar with all the UFT papers before they arrive. The most important thing is to discuss technical details. Horst Eckardt and Douglas Lindstrom are the ones with the technical ability to completely understand ECE theory, and Simon Clifford is very good at his work in electronics. So I assume that the Trwm Theatre in the NLW will have a computer linked to a big screen so that any UFT paper can be pulled up on the big screen. If not I suggest that delegates bring laptops, open the www.aias.us site, and a particular UFT paper, then I can talk through the paper. Instead of formal talks, it is better in my opinion to sit around a table in a seminar and discuss things in depth with a set agenda. I can talk over a paper for about ten minutes and then it can be discussed. For example the papers on the x factor can be animated and shown on a big screen. That is worth a million words. These are just ideas of mine. There are 238 UFT papers, delegates could inform me which ones they think are most important. The selection so far is already a good one. I very much like the animation of the hyperbolic spiral.
