Agreed, this CERN stuff is hopeless nonsense, and they still have not been able to answer the heavily studied UFT225. CERN can no longer be called science at all. Obviously UFT225 cannot be covered up as in the old days, the scientometrics show that. Using the famous de Broglie equation for photon rest mass and rest frequency
h bar omega0 = m0 c squared
and a lowest observable electromagnetic frequency to date of 0.01 Hz, then the rest mass of the photon is 7.39 ten power minus 53 kilograms. The CERN result is total nonsense because it gives a photon rest mass twenty six orders of magnitude too heavy. This would produce a rest frequency in the ultra violet, meaning that no frequencies can exist below the ultra violet. This is news to all real scientists and all people who see visible light. On top of this there are all those adjustables (I think there are now about two hundred ajustables in some theories) and the initial assumption that the photon mass is zero in the U(1) sector. So they assume that the photo mass is zero and at the same time super heavy. With logic like this who needs LSD? This is all being done at the cost of billions and all those who work at CERN are exempt from income tax. I wonder what Francis Bacon would have thought of this? I think he would have made a pig’s breakfast out of it. His name was Bacon after all. I calculate that the photon rest mass is far too small to be measured by the Stefan Boltzmann law, with the instrumental precision we have now, so the only feasible method is to measure the mass of a moving photon:
m = gamma m0
and to simultaneously use a method of measuring photon velocity in another experiment. Knowing m and v would give m0, but the method described above, using the lowest observable electromagentic frequency of 0.01 Hz, is simple and makes sense. The Evans / Morris effects on www.aias.us, and the work published in UFT311 are far more interesting than anything going on at CERN, and all done at no cost to the tax payer.

I had a quick look at the CERN website over the weekend. The link below shows what a mess they have created by arbitarily setting photon mass to zero:

The Higgs boson, that they claim to have detected in 2012, supposedly can decay into two photons or four leptons. They have estimated the Higgs boson mass at ~125 GeV (their estimates are in units of energy and not mass). If this boson can decay into two photons, as they claim, the mass of the photon would be of a similar order of magnitude (125 GeV energy units which equates to10 minus 26 to 10 minus 27 kilograms). This is far too large for the mass of the photon (that they arbitrarily set to zero anyway).
Standard Model logic is so confused as can easily be seen even in their own public press releases such as this.
