"...A person known as Martin Shrewsbury, who has had several aliases, has taken up this disinformation in a public campaign of crude personal animosity directed towards residents of Mawr Community of Swansea County, Gower Constituency. The plans for wind turbines on Mynydd y Gwair are UNANIMOUSLY OPPOSED by all the local farmers and by many environmental groups, by local AM's and MP's, and if allowed through, will devastate the very beautiful local landscape (www.socme.org) in order to give the absentee Duke of Beaufort about a million pounds a year in rent. These ridiculous devices have already caused great damage to Wales. As Civil List Scientist and one of Britain's most senior scientists, I am completely opposed to all wind turbines as I have argued scientifically here many times. I support the People of Mawr in their struggle against this big business despotism, to which the Green Party may be allied. Shrewsbury's party, an ultra fringe entitity known as "Green Party Wales", is split among itself when it comes to wind turbines, and did not field a candidate for Gower in the 2007 Assembly Elections. In previous local elections it had typically polled about 1% or less of those entitled to vote. Shrewsbury is very noisy, and is loathed in Mawr for his crude, disinformational, attacks on Cllr. Ioan Richards and others who oppose the environmental devastation that these useless wind turbines will cause. I was asked to help them by the People of Mawr, and of course I have done so and will continue to do so indefinitely. Shrewsbury (or whatever he may call himself) is now reported to have opened a disinfomational public speaking campaign against myself...." Part of a statement by Myron Evans, 23 May 2007
