Subject: To Dave Burleigh: Description so Far of the New Historical Section

I have put together this description. There are over a hundred items so far, and bring out the pros (scholars) and cons (administrators) of University existence. It is what is known in Irish as Cet Cathach, the hundred battles of Conn Cet Cathach, High King of Ireland from 177 A. D. If there are any questions please let me know, and a hundred thanks. I only have to add the items of the Pilcher Senior Fellowship posted on the blog last wewek. I will append these tomorrow to this description file. “Is your Uni really necessary?” . Dylan Thomas was once asked to write a script for a BBC film called “Is your journey really necessary?” He substituted “Ernie” for “journey”, and now it has become “Uni”. Please feel free to take as much time as needed. The idea here is to construct a history section similar to the UFT and OO Sections, read by the million.

Discussion of note 230(2)

Agreed, there is a square root missing by accident. The phonon energy range is about 0.01 MeV, the assumption is that E is small but not zero, otheriwse the p squared / (2m) is zero. The idea here is to try to see whether quantum tunnelling and LENR can be made to occur with a resonant absorption of any kind of wave: photon, plasmon or phonon. The work is at the stage where ideas are being thrown around.

It seems that in eq. (14) a sqare root is missing around the parenthesis on rhs.
In eqs.(17-18) you assume that the fused particle is at rest, this is ok. However E normally is the kinetic energy of the injected particle, so you assume that also the incoming particle is at rest. This may be justified as far as

E – m c^2 << hbar omega

which requires that the phonon energy is much higher than the kinetic energy of the injected particle. This is indeed the case we want to investigate here. We should be sure that phonon energies can indeed be so high.

Wave Driven LENR

It will be interesting to do some numerical calculations along the lines of notes to date for UFT230. In ECE theory every wave of any kind originates in the wave equation, with a suitable proportionality constant before the tetrad, so it will be no different for a phonon wave. I would suggest that Kerry or yourself phone up the Department of Nuclear, Plasma and Radiological Engineering of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, which has been reading www.aias.us and which has a LENR laboratory. They might invite Kerry and yourself and the rest of us at AIAS to participate in a cooperative funding proposal for a workshop and longer term cooperation. There is a huge amount of interest in our current work on LENR and of course in our work in general. So it must be good work worthy of funding, for example NSF and NATO workshop funding, EPSRC, Royal Society, EEC, corporate, foundations, trusts and so on. I invite Kerry and yourself and others willing to help to make a systematic search for sources of funding and to go through the attached overview file to look for potential cooperation in funding applications. If we are to make a serious attempt to obtain funds this is the way to go. AIAS will continue indefinitely for the foreseeable future in the present self funding style, but additional funds are always interesting, for regular meetings and a central AIAS laboratory.

Phonon resonance might explain LENR in solid materials such as Ni or Pd. I suppose a phonon could be driven by em fields with energy coming from spacetime or the vacuum. I am not sure about this mechanism for the carbon / oxygen reaction in the plasma of an arc. Plasma’s do support many different wave structures, perhaps one of them, stimulated by a fluctuating em field would cause particle motion and supply energy to allow the LENR to happen.

Many thanks indeed to Douglas Lindstrom for this important and clear computation, which shows that low energy nuclear reaction is NOT possible with conventional theory. Another mechanism must be present. In ECE theory this must be input of energy from spacetime. One possibility is resonant phonon absorption and I have started to work on this in UFT230. At present it is not known why LENR occurs.

Note To Dave Burleigh on New History Section

Subject: Note To Dave Burleigh on New History Section

As you see I have posted thirty seven extant documents and zipped documents from the Pontardawe Grammar School era on the blog today. I suggest that the new history section start with these, because they are the oldest in chronological order. I have made sure the numbering is right on the blog. They can be accompanied by just the title description to minimize work for yourself. I will proceed now to writing an editable file documenting all the rest of the historical source documents with a short description of each. The section can then be designed in the same way as the Omnia Opera or UFT sections, so all will be in order and easily found. Many thanks in anticipation. There was true meritocracy at the Grammar School because the examinations were carried out by a central system, the Welsh Joint Education Committee. There was meritocracy at undergraduate and at post graduate, but thereafter the system was almost wholly subjective in the University of Wales. Enough meritocracy prevailed at National level for me to earn my high honours but the UW couldn’t care less about my career, thus negating all its claims to be an educational establishment. The UW self destructs in these letters, and their constant whining about having no money. So complete reform of the higher educational system is necessary. For a scholar however, the system is a secondary thing, a scholar always works as an individual, like a poet or artist. So further historical source documents should start at number 38 in the new history section.

Looks good. The next stage in UFT230 is to see whether phonon waves can produce low energy nuclear reaction.

LENR: First Results for UFT229 by Dr Douglas Lindstrom

These are the first results of UFT229 from Dr Douglas Lindstrom. As expected, the transmission coefficient in conventional quantum tunnelling theory is very low, inless Horst adn Doug can find a condition under which T is maximized for V << E, so an additional mecahnism is needed for low energy nuclear reaction. In some experiments this is the application of a phonon wave, which is modelled in ECE theory with a wave of spacetime within a proprotionality factor. I will begin work on that today for UFT230.
